LONG SON PETROCHEMICALS COMPANY LIMITED (LSP) PARTNERED WITH VINA LOGISTICS CORPORATION (VNL) FOR FIRE AND OIL SPILL RESPONSE DRILL AT HYDROCARBON PORT

(BR-VT) Long Son Petrochemicals Company Limited (LSP) partnered with Vina Logistics Corporation (VNL) for Fire and Oil Spill Response Drill at Hydrocarbon Port.

On February 27th, Long Son Petrochemicals Co., Ltd. (LSP) collaborated with Vina Logistics Corporation (VNL) to conduct an emergency fire and oil spill response drill at the Hydrocarbon Port. The simulated scenario took place at 9:00 AM on February 27th, during the unloading of Naphtha from the vessel, where a leak occurred. The combination of sparks from operation equipment and the leaking Naphtha caused a fire, and approximately 15m³ of Naphtha spilled into the sea. Immediately, LSP deployed its on-site response team to control the situation, while the port operations team followed the isolation procedure and requested support from the Emergency Response Team (ERT). VNL was promptly notified and sent fire-fighting vessels and an oil spill response team to assist. The drill involved over 40 personnel from LSP and VNL’s response teams, utilizing two fire-fighting vessels, one oil spill response vessel, and various firefighting and rescue equipment.

The purpose of the drill was to enhance the response capability of employees and related teams to fire, explosion, and oil spill situations, ensuring workplace safety and environmental protection. Moreover, the drill raised awareness among LSP staff regarding fire and oil spill incidents, improved coordination between the ERT, port operations team, and VNL, tested the response plans and equipment at the port, and enhanced the skills of firefighting, medical, and other involved teams
